Booking:
Booking an appointment can be done via phone, email, or online. All 1st time clients will need to book a consultation/ 1st visit appointment. Once your appointment has been confirmed you will receive an email confirmation and a link to complete our digital intake form. We ask you to fill this form in at least a few hours before your appointment. You will also receive email or text reminders 2 days prior to your appointment. if you cannot make your appointment or need to reschedule please give us 24 hours notice.
First visit:
Please note we share a building with Central Dental and JP Egan Accountants opposite the AIB bank in Lucan village
Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly reception team who will show you to our waiting room and answer any questions you may have at this stage. If you haven’t already completed our digital intake form you will also be asked to complete some paperwork.
When ready you will shown upstairs to meet our chiropractor Dr Clíodhna Walsh DC. Our treatment room is upstairs - unfortunately at this time we are unable to provide care on the ground floor and clients will need to be able to climb 1 set of stairs. There will be no rush on the stairs, they are wide, have a handrail, and our staff will be happy to provide a steadying hand if needed.
Dr Clíodhna will go over your paperwork and ask some further questions in order to get a complete case history. Following this she will perform a thorough physical examination and then discuss her findings.
Dr Clíodhna will clearly explain the diagnosis and treatment plan proposed, along with the associated risks and expected benefits of care. If you would like to begin care, you will be asked to sign a consent form and treatment can begin straight away.
In the event, your condition is not suitable for treatment we may ask you to attend your GP surgery for further investigation or we may refer you for further imaging like x-rays or MRI to help gain a clearer understanding of the complaint.
We will of course be happy to answer any questions you may have at any point during the consultation.
Follow up appointments:
On your second visit we will be sure to discuss the details of your first visit and clarify anything you are unsure of. We will then move on to the adjustment/ treatment. Usually this appointment is much more straight forward and takes less time than the first.
Dry needling:
Dry needling may be offered as an option with no extra charge. Dry needling will be offered only after a complete examination and as part of your treatment plan, if deemed beneficial to your complaint. We do not offer dry needling as a stand alone treatment. It may not be suitable for people with certain health conditions or for those taking specific medications.
